I like octopuses, a great book and you’ll never find me without a big cup of ice water by my side. A total freak for essential oils, bad jokes, mini m&m’s and really big ideas, I talk a whole freaking lot   and love love love to laugh. I have a hot fiancé who I love making   googly eyes at and I’m a momma to two crazy cats. Traveling is my jam. Right here you will see all of those things, plus a bit more craziness. The Trip That Was 13 Years in the Making

Let me tell you a story that rewinds back to June of 2017.

The Trip That Was 13 Years in the Making

While visiting Austin, TX for my cousin’s graduation party, my sister, fiance and I were sitting on my Aunt’s couch eating mini-weenies and chips and salsa ( always worth a mention!) and my sister saw a picture of Niagara Falls bounce around on the TV. It was one of those screensavers for when you have the music channel turned on the TV and oh my lanta was this picture GORGEOUS!

Wait, let’s rewind further, all the way back to 2004. I was 10, my little sister was 8. After much begging on the kid’s side to go see Niagara Falls, my parents told my sister and I that we could take a family trip there, if we did a whole report and presentation on it. We did the whole presentation and… we never went to the Falls.

Side note: this is one of maybe 5 things total my parents did wrong and we went on AWESOME vacations as a family, so I’m not even complaining, just wanted to give you some context..

Okay, back to June 2017, the following occurs:

Sister sees picture fabulous picture.

Sister then turns to my Fiance and I and goes: “Let’s go to the Falls! Think we can get Dad to say yes?”

Fiance, of course, eggs her on and says “mmmh.. Hell yeah. See if you can get a yes!”

Sister then walks over to Dad and asks: “Can we all go to Niagara Falls for Christmas this year?”  (second side note… we did not know she was going to say Christmas. December in Canada was not at the very top of my list… However I will always say yes at least the first time, so December in Canada it was!)

And Dad, with a Jack & Coke in hand, surrounded by good food and good family (promptly putting him in a GREAT mood) says: “Yeah! Sure! Sounds Good”.

We even recorded it, just in case he tried to go back on it the next morning.

And so the great T Family Christmas Vacation to Canada commenced.

6 months later, there was too much stuff, 5 people and a Charli Brown Christmas tree stuffed into one car and on the way to Niagara Falls, Canada.

Fast forward to December 25th, 2017 and I am sure he regretted it just a little as we stepped into 10-degree weather with cold Falls water splashing on our faces….

Or probably not – it was an AWESOME trip.

We went from Dec. 21st – Dec. 26th and stayed in this gorgeous Airbnb for the whole stay, 5 minutes from the falls.

We also did the following:

  1. Went to the Toronto Christmas Market
    1. Had the “Drink of the God’s” at the Market – Best, thick, most delicious Hot Chocolate I’ve ever drank.
  2. Went to the Ripley’s Aquarium in Toronto, CA
  3. Visited Niagara Falls
    1. Did the 4D excursion
    2. Did the under – the – fall’s tunnels
  4. Went to the Fall’s Whirlpool
  5. Went to the Fall’s Butterfly garden
  6. Ate great burgers at ‘The Works’
  7. Ate great food my dad made at the house
    1. Chicken + noodles
    2. French toast
    3. Homemade Pizzas
    4. Canadian Oreos – WHICH ARE AWESOME
  8. Played board games
    1. Dominos
    2. Life
    3. Pandemic
  9. Played in the 2 feet of snow we had.
  10. Had one of the best times of my life.

And I have pictures to prove it:
